America is on a train headed to nowhere when it comes to racism. In all honesty I feel the white people are the most oppressed, mostly due to affirmative action, but I'll get to that point later. As we look at Barack Obama talk about needing to end racism, saying that it is a problem in the US right now that needs to get address, he is totally right, yet completly wrong. Racism against black people is only kept alive by the enforcement of affirmitive action and by none other than blacks themselves. Here is an actual expierance from where I used to live.
Many of the poorer neighborhoods I've lived in were 80% blacks. The rest were well, everyone esle. Anyways, as I attended school at these places I learned ALOT about the black culture and the manner in which they themselves choose to live. Obama I will say had the will power to get an education and move ahead, but the dropout rate and lack of attendance at the domanitly black school was throught the roof, and many were drug dealers who lived off money the government "owed" them. They often complained about how the 'white' government oppressed them, making them live in shabby homes because they won't give them more money. Then they invite you into thier homes where you are first greeted by a large plasma screen T.V and some new gaming system, hooked up to a surround sound system so loud you can hear it a block over. Then as I take a seat on the new sofa, he tells me about how hes sueing his ex-employer for beng racist because he got fired for plain incompetance.They have a wallet full of food stamps and government supported money, and spend it all on these luxuries. This is not oppression. This is the way they themselves have chosen to live. 'White' people had little to do with where or how they live. This is a common occurence in nearly every household from this particular neighborhood.
First of all, the fact that they decide to buy the luxuries first shows that this person felt that they 'deserved' to be given wealth. Wealth is earned, not given. His claim that 'whites' oppress him into those living conditions shows that he is a racist. Instead of simply investing into a better house he decides to buy an X-Box. Then he blames it on racism. He claims that because he was insulted because he was fired that is racism. That is 2 claims to be racially abused when not a single one could be race related. He himself did his part to keep racism alive.
Now for white people. Due to the Affimative Action law, many white people are being DISCRIMATED against and are being forced to give up there jobs simply because the black people play the race card if they dont get that job. In a postion such as a police officer, I have heard of a well qualifed expericened white person losing a job to a substandard black person who barely passes the exams and has no experience at all, and all because hes black. The N.A.A.C.P. is a organization that is for the advancement of the black community, but not whites, and give college grants to black people, not whites, they fight for jobs for black people, not whites. Isnt that the discrimination they themselves are working to abolish? White people are being forced to the back of the bus on many issues, and all the while the black community points and screams "Racist!", and push us further back.
In all honesty, I would love to create a N.A.A.W.P. to assist the unfortunate white people who are fired for being white, who cannot get college grants because they are white, and help fight for jobs for white people. I want to hear the screams of the leftists and black radicalists, yelling "Racist! Racist! Racist!", while they turn to the same organization that contridicts itself in its principals to defeat racism.
In conclusion, if Obama really wants to eliminate racism, eliminate the Affimative Action legislation. In its day it had its purpose, but in todays times where racism against those of colour isn't the problem anymore, it is simply another excuse for black people to keep racism alive.
